Bull Creek Common Lands, Inc.

Land Conservation

Bull Creek Common Lands, Inc. was created in 2021 to conserve land in, and adjacent to, the Bull Creek and Grassy Brook watersheds of Southeastern Vermont and to support public access to the land.

The Raymond Bemis Community Forest is the first project of Bull Creek Common Lands Inc. It includes the acquisition and conservation of approximately 36 acres of forestland located in Athens, VT. The purpose of the project is to protect an important community land resource from development, maintain and enhance environmental conditions, and provide public access for recreation, education and cultural programs.

The Windham Foundation awarded $9,000 to support this effort to protect and restore special places here in Vermont such as the Raymond Bemis Community Forest.
